Devils on Horseback with DEEP CRUNCHY Almond Butter
2 tsp DEEP Crunchy Almond Butter
Medjool or Deglet Noor pitted dates
Smoked streaky bacon
Fresh thyme
First, slice the bacon in half lengthways and then cut across horizontally to create a shorter strip that you’ll use to wrap each date.
Next, using the most plump dates, cut into the flesh and gently hold it open with your fingers. Use the tip of a butter knife to fill the date with DEEP Crunchy Almond Butter. Wrap the date in one of the bacon strips. Place it seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat filling and wrapping dates until you have as many Devils on Horseback as you’d like to serve. Top with fresh thyme (removed from sprigs) and freshly cracked black pepper.
Bake at 180 for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked and caramelised.
Serve immediately.
